Tara's first riding instructor was Samantha Borkoski of Terry Allen Farms in Terryville, CT.  Samantha took Tara as a 3 year old and taught her how to ride and post.  Tara was showing in leadline classes in local shows and Tri-State horse in MA, where she gained many Blue Ribbons and took a Reserve Champion at the end of that weekend. 

In the Fall of 2006 our family moved to NC.  Initially, we had a lot of trouble finding an instructor to take such a young student, but we finally met Rebecca Rainey at Countyline Equestrian Center and Rebecca was happy to take Tara as one of her riding students.  Tara was in lessons with Rebecca Rainey and Bridget O'Neil, who both brought Tara from a leadline to an independent rider as a 5 yr old.  Tara showed at Bennett Bunn Plantation and ended 2008 as their Grand Champion for the Maiden Division.  This past fall, 2008, Tara continued lessons with Rebecca and went on to complete the full show year, taking Reserve Champion in PeeWee Division at the Carolina Mane Event.

In addition to training with Rebecca, Tara is also working with trainer, Elizabeth Smith, at BR Riding Center.  Tara attend the Caroline Mane Event in June of 2008, and placed very well in her classes.  Tara has also started showing Mini horses in hand.  Currently she is working with "RR's Hot to Trot". 

Tara is now 6 yrs old and she is jumping 18" crossrails and getting her lead changes.  Now the next big step is cantering.  Tara's Parents, Grandparents, Great Grandparents and Aunt Jessie are all very proud of her and her accomplishments for such a young rider.  We would also like to thank Rebecca Rainey and Elizabeth Smith for such dedication with our Tara.
